As a Massachusetts Justice of the Peace, I perform wedding ceremonies in Amherst, Shutesbury, and area towns throughout the Pioneer Valley and Western Massachusetts.
I welcome all couples.
I invite you to meet with me before the intended ceremony to discuss your ideas and hopes for your wedding.
My promise is to work thoughtfully with you to plan an individualized wedding ceremony that will be meaningful and adapted to your wishes.
I am happy to discuss the practicalities of the ceremony such as the place, who else the couple might wish to have participate in the ceremony, and any other logistical issues with which I might help.
My wife and I are happy to offer our home as a place for a ceremony with up to 6 guests.
My fee for planning and carrying out a wedding ceremony is set by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Contact me for details.
I will perform wedding ceremonies in the Pioneer Valley for active members of the U.S. military for a fee of $25. My standard fee for Amherst, Shutesbury and nearby towns is $90. My fee for Western Massachusetts beyond the immediate Amherst area is $100-$125.00 dependin gon distance.
I am a former high school teacher of English and a retired professor of education at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. My wife and I have a daughter and a son and four grandchildren. I have been a Massachusetts Justice of the Peace since 2007.
I have planned and officiated at ceremonies at which only the couple was present and at ceremonies with two hundred and fifty guests, and everything in between.
No matter how small or large the ceremony you have in mind, it would be my pleasure to meet and be thoughtful with you in developing and carrying out your ceremony.
